The zombie genre may be reaching saturation, but the idea of the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger taking on hordes of zombies is simply too exciting to miss. However, the film MAGGIE, is a bit of a surprise from what we were expecting when we first heard “Zombie” and “Schwarzenegger” uttered in the same breath, as it sees Arnold caring for his daughter who is gradually succumbing to a zombie virus. That’s a lot more drama and heart than we thought we’d get, and makes for an even more exciting film. Henry Hobson makes his directorial debut after years in the industry designing and directing title sequences. This really sounds as though this could be something special, especially with a low budget suggesting this isn’t just another pay day for Schwarzenegger.
MAGGIE is set to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Joely Richardson, and Abigail Breslin.
