Emmy Rossum In Negotiations For DC Film

EmmyRossum3244383651

Recently, news has surfaced that Emmy Rossum (PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, DAY AFTER TOMORROW, BEAUTIFUL CREATURES) is in talks with DC for might even be a major role for an upcoming DC film, one of the nine they recently told press that were being made between now and 2020, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, not included. Though there are no details yet as to what role she might assume, whether it be the lead of a solo-venture or a smaller role in a ‘team’ film, such as JUSTICE LEAGUE. What we do know is that she IS actively in talks with DC and this rumour has been around for the last month or so, but up until now was previously unconfirmed, as indicated by her representative’s response to an inquiry about the subject:

“Thank you for your interest in ICM, we are a very competitive agency and cannot release information at this time, about what type of role Emmy Rossum will be playing in a future DC film. It is a long process, but we are very excited for the opportunity that is out there with the new slate of films on the horizon. When a deal is finalized for a major film such as a DC property there will be a press release to properly highlight the details.”

Speculation as to who she might be playing includes roles such as Hawkgirl and Black Canary in the DC cinematic universe, but some are also considering that she might be the first of many to be scouted out for JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK. Yes, that’s right, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, you didn’t read it wrong, but it was confirmed that the film is still happening at Comic-Con this year. In this case, she would potentially be cast as the likes of Zatanna, one of the many Guillermo Del Toro is eyeing up for the team, alongside Etrigan the Demon, Deadman, Swamp Thing and The Floronic Man and potentially Constantine (though whether that is the same Constantine from the upcoming TV series, remains to be seen).

Perhaps more likely is that she’ll feature as a secondary character in an upcoming solo-film, perhaps as the likes of Talia Al Ghul in a Batman stand-alone.

So we’re just as curious as you are, who do you think Rossum could play in the DC cinematic universe? Leave your ideas in the comments section below!

Zatanna or Raven would be awesome choices for her.
