More Clues On Scoot McNairy’s Character In ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is easily the most secrecy-shrouded superhero film in development at the moment. Not only do we have next-to-no idea what the films plot is, but we are also clueless about which characters half of the cast are actually playing.

ARGO’s Scoot McNairy is one of many said cast members playing a mystery role in the highly anticipated sequel. After the initial casting of Ben Affleck as the new caped crusader, the rumour mill began churning about other potential JUSTICE LEAGUE members making appearances in the film. Now, a year later, we have confirmation that Wonder Woman, Cyborg and (probably) Aquaman will be introduced in the team-up prior to a mega-crossover somewhere down the line. This lead many fans to believe that McNairy would also be playing yet another super powered character from the pages DC Comics, albeit one we currently do not know about.

If you were one of those many speculative fans desperately clamouring for any hints as to who McNairy is playing, then this picture definitely adds fuel to the fire. A brand new set photo of McNairy snapped yesterday reveals that the MONSTERS star will have some sort of CGI added to his legs in post-production…You can see the picture by heading over to Batman-News!

This is very peculiar and obviously creates more questions than answers, but it is interesting that McNairy’s character will require CGI. While some are speculating that he could be playing The Flash, others believe that he will become the villainous Metallo. A secondary villain to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor has been rumoured for quite some time, and the character of Metallo would certainly create a physically imposing villain that requires Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman to take him down. It would also be a brilliantly dramatic and meaningful plot device for the character to be created from the destruction of MAN OF STEEL’s final act…something others have also speculated.

Either way, we likely wont start to get any real answers until filming wraps in late September, but it sure is fun to speculate in the mean time. Who do you think McNairy is playing? The Flash?, Metallo?, Green Lantern? or someone else entirely? Let us know in the comments section.
