‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D’ Recruits Adrianne Palicki As Mockingbird

It looks as if the second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is turning out to be a bit of a fan-fest, as news emerges that Adrianne Palicki will be joining the series as character, Bobbi Morse, a.k.a. Mockingbird. For those of you who know nothing about Mockingbird, she is a skilled combatant with a number of weapons, in unarmed combat and depending on which state they want to place her in when we’re introduced to her in the show, she may also have greatly improved strength and agility. Comic fans will know why. Most important, she’s got a mind to match her ruthlessness, with a PhD in Biology.

It’s unclear at this point whether or not she will be linked with Renner’s Hawkeye, who she has been intensely romantically linked to in the comics, after all, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the MCU do share the same universe. Whether this means that Marvel are starting to lay the ground-work for future members of the Avengers initiative or not is unknown, but we can’t rule it out as an option. What is clear is that she will be joining the already present members of SHIELD alongside  Kyle MacLachlan as Skye’s (Chloe Bennet) father; Lucy Lawless as S.H.I.E.L.D veteran Isabelle Hartly; Reed Diamond as Hydra villain Daniel Whitehall (aka Kraken); Nick Blood as a mercenary Coulson reaches out to for help; Henry Simmons as agent Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie; and Simon Kassianides as Bakshi.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Palicki don anything that resembles a cape or lanyard, and we try not to remind ourselves of the failed Wonder Woman pilot in which she starred, but it crops up every now and again. The failed Aquaman pilot? We won’t even talk about that. Palicki, if you don’t recognise her, is of Friday Night Lights fame and has had parts in G.I. JOE RETALIATION  and RED DAWN, so it’s not like she doesn’t know how to use a weapon.

Now that she’s jump ship over to Marvel, I’m sure they’ll make fantastic work of what she can bring to the table. I for one, am eager to see what she’s got. Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
