Can you believe it’s been 15 years since THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT – FIFTEEN! In that time, horror/thrillers have been reinvented with countless found-footage films and director Eduardo Sanchez, the man who helped kickstart it all, is back with Bigfoot horror, EXISTS.
As they always do, a group of friends venture into the remote Texas woods for a party weekend at their family hut but when they get there, everything isn’t as it should be. As they start to film their day-to-day events and try to make best of what they’ve got, they find themselves stalked by something huge and mysterious…Bigfoot.
Written by Jamie Nash who also wrote LOVELY MOLLY – not one of my all-time favourites but unforgettable for messed-up reasons – this does look like a lot more intense fun, in that deeply rooted psychological horror way and THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT ethos embedded through it, if this trailer is anything to go by anyway, check it out below:
EXISTS stars Samuel Davis, Roger Edwards, Dora Madison Burge, Chris Osborn, Brian Steele and Denise Williamson. It opens on 24th October in the USA, with further world dates to be confirmed.
