It looks like CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE partners Steve Carell and Julianne Moore will collaborate again, this time round for FREEHELD, but they certainly won’t be playing husband and wife.
Based on a 2007 documentary directed by Peter Sollett, FREEHELD will focus on how a lesbian couple managed to change the Domestic Partnership Act in New Jersey:
New Jersey car mechanic Stacie Andree and her police detective girlfriend Laurel Hester both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Moore will play Hester, while JUNO actress Ellen Page will star as Andree. Carell will replace Zach Galifianakis as Steven Goldstein, a supporter of the pair and an advocate for Garden State Equality, based in NJ.
