Bill Nighy And Carey Mulligan Set For ‘Skylight’ Broadway Transfer

Skylight

There had been a buzz in the air, but it has finally been confirmed that Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan will be travelling across the pond to star in the Broadway transfer of David Hare’s Skylight.

The show, staged by Stephen Daldry, tells the story of a teacher named Kyra Hollis (Mulligan) who receives an unexpected visit from her former lover Tom Sergeant (Nighy), a successful restauranteur who’s wife has recently passed away. As the night progresses, the pair try and rekindle their romance, but are both met with opposing ideologies and desires. The show also stars Matthew Beard.

Skylight finished its West End at the Wyndham’s Theatre in August, and as of March 16, 2015 will be showing at John Golden Theatre for a limited 13 week run.  The show was met with critical acclaim (THN even gave it five stars!) and according to producer Scott Rudin, recouped its show budget after just five weeks. There is no doubt that this show will get Tonys a-buzzing next year!
