Trailer Released For ‘The Notebook’ Lookalike ‘The Best Of Me’

Ever since the phenomenal success of THE NOTEBOOK, Nicholas Sparks’ novels have been hot property in the adaptation world. This year’s latest installment, THE BEST OF ME, will no doubt bring in (typically female) audiences, but I can’t help but cringe at the obvious resemblance between it and its predecessor.

Michelle Monaghan/Liana Liberato and James Marsden/Luke Bracey star as highschool sweethearts Amanda and Dawson. Separated for 20 years, the pair reunite only to find that their past feelings are still there. However, the forces that drove them apart still exist, with the couple having to overcome obstacles they thought had disappeared.

The dancing scene, the kissing in the rain…it all looks a little too familiar.

THE BEST OF ME, directed by Michael Hoffman, will arrive in UK cinemas from 15th October, with the US following on 17th October.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
