Although Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got off to a bit of a rough start, the show quickly proved itself as a compelling science fiction drama. The television event was originally conceived as companion series to Disney’s larger cinematic universe on the big screen, consisting of CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN, THOR and AVENGERS movies. However, by the end of the show’s first season, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had established itself as quality production that stood on its own, while also providing exciting crossover material bridging the gap between the small screen and big screen Marvel adventures.
Now ABC have released the first teaser trailer for the second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which you can see below:
From the looks of this preview, the series seems set to continue the darker tone of the first season’s later episodes. This definitely creates a more exciting dynamic for the start of the second season, which will see Coulson and his crew clear up the world as a secret, underground, illegal organisation continuing the hunt for Hydra. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere in the US on 23rd September, with the UK expected to air it shortly afterwards on Channel 4.
