Cara Delevinge is one of the most famous models of the moment. Thanks to her string of actor friends, which include FAST AND THE FURIOUS actress Michelle Rodriguez, it appears though that Delevinge has caught the acting bug. Having already played small parts in films such as ANNA KARENINA, the model is focussing her attention on bigger roles with the news that she has been cast as the female lead in new project PAPER TOWNS.
PAPER TOWNS, is another story from John Green, the mind behind this summer’s weep-fest THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. The book is being adapted by a team of writers including Michael H. Webber who adapted the aforementioned Fault in our Stars, which should mean that fans of the book can breathe easy. Jake Schreier will direct the film, whilst Nat Wolff will return for another John Green adaptation.
The synopsis for the new production points to a film vastly different to it’s predecessor, news that will not doubt disappoint the big-wigs at Kleenex. The plot for the story is thus:
Quentin Jacobsen (Wolff) has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman (Delevinge) from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life-dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge-he follows. After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Quentin arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Quentin soon learns that there are clues-and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Quentin sees of the girl he thought he knew.
Although new to the acting world Delevinge is very in-demand at the moment having just completed work on several film projects, the most high-profile being PAN – the Hugh Jackman starring story of Peter Pan. With regards to her casting in PAPER TOWNS she has author John Green’s full seal of approval. He took to Twitter to vocalise his delight in her casting.
Filming has yet to start, however PAPER TOWNS already has a release date of 31st July 2015 in the US. The UK can expect to see the film land in cinemas from 13th August 2015.
