HARRY POTTER alum Emma Watson and RUSH star Daniel Bruhl have reportedly joined COLONIA, a new political thriller based in Chile.
Set in the 1970s, Bruhl will feature as a man kidnapped by the secret police, who is then housed away in a sealed-off area of the country nicknamed Colonia Dignidad. With reports surfacing that nobody has ever escaped from the area, Bruhl’s wife Lena (Watson) goes on a mission to track down her husband and free him from imprisonment.
With shooting set to begin soon, and taking place in South America, Berlin, Munich and Luxembourg, this is a big project for all involved. It’ll be great to see Watson in a serious ‘thriller’ role, especially given her extensive acting credentials.
COLONIA, directed by Florian Gallenberger, is set for release in late 2015.
