Will Tom Hardy Bring The Apocalypse For ‘X-Men’?

X-Men ApocalypseTom Hardy is probably wanted for most of the roles in the world right now, especially comic franchises. He already played Bane in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and was rumoured last week to be wanted for DC’s SUICIDE SQUAD alongside Will Smith. Now it looks as though 20th Century Fox want a piece of the action, as Hardy is rumoured to be the favourite for the role of Apocalypse in the upcoming X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Hardy would play the first ever mutant, who made a brief appearance after the credits in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

It’s doubtful that Hardy could take on roles in both, so perhaps going the way of Marvel would be best considering he’s already danced with DC. I’m still not sure on how accurately a human performance could capture Apocalypse, with perhaps the CG route of Thanos in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY being more appropriate.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is released in cinemas on 27th May 2016.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
