Adventure Time started life as an animated short made by Pen Ward. The short proved to be entertaining, filled with plenty of laughs and imagination. In just a few short years, it’s blossomed into a must-watch series on CartoonNetwork.

Season two is an example of the show really hitting its flow. Now we have come accustom to the characters and general feel of the show, it has more freedom to manoeuvre. The partnership between Finn and Jake has grown from strength to strength. The duo is the perfect merriment for a gloomy afternoon. The show is a perfect combination of high energy, imagination, humour and childhood fantasies. Somehow building those pillow forts lacks the imagination that can be found in Adventure Time.

The show proves it’s limitless, from its incredibly characters and engaging tales the show is defiantly a favourite on Cartoon Network. Now the show is available on DVD it seems the perfect opportunity to grab a copy and relive the amazing adventures each episode offers, with battles against the Ice King, a trip into a video game and discovering there could be more humans. For fans of the show it’s a no brainer, for those late to the show this is the perfect opportunity to get on-board and thank me later.

The show is great at capturing the attention of both children and adults. The episode of mystery Train, where Finn has a party on a train where murders are taking place, embodies qualities and references a grown up audience will love. The synopsis alone gives a nod to a classic most will be able to spot. The whole series iis filled with plenty of jokes and innuendo for the adults all whilst making an imaginative and colourful display engaging for the kids.

The shows fast pace adds to the energy of the show. Also, keeping up with the shows frantic pace you’ll feel like you’ve sped through all three discs and have a thirst for more. The only downside is that the DVD neglects to include a few episodes, which include; Mortal Folly, Mortal Recoil, Death in Bloom and It Came from the Nightosphere. This is the only reason for deducting a star; however the DVD does offer a great selection of episodes that’ll prove to be a treat for old and new fans.
