Australia To Host Angelina Jolie ‘Unbroken’ Premiere

Sydney, Australia will play host to the world premiere of Angelina Jolie’s second directorial film UNBROKEN on 17 November 2014.

Jolie will walk the red carpet at the State Theatre with Jack O’Connell (300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE) who plays Louis Zamperini, and Miyavi who plays The Bird in the film.

The film is based on the inspirational true story of World War II veteran and Olympian ‘Louie’ Zamperini who, along with two other crewmen, survived for 47 days in a raft after a near-fatal plane crash only to be caught by the Japanese and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.

Filmed in and around New South Wales and the Sunshine Coast, the screenplay was rewritten from earlier drafts by Academy Award® winners Joel and Ethan Coen (TRUE GRIT, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN).

UNBROKEN opens in the UK on Boxing Day.
