Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’ Cast Revealed

The cast of Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT has been revealed thanks to a behind the scenes picture taken by Samuel L. Jackson and posted on Twitter. The film has had a long journey thus far, after the script was leaked and Tarantino refused to make the film, suggesting it may surface as a novel instead. Thankfully Tarantino changed his mind and has now assembled a fantastic cast of old and new faces. The cast includes:

  • Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren
  • Kurt Russell as John ‘The Hangman Ruth’
  • Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue
  • Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix
  • Demian Bichir as Bob
  • Tim Roth Oswaldo Mobry
  • Michael Madsen as Joe Gage
  • Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers

Although not pictured, Channing Tatum has also signed to the cast in a role. The film will see a group of 8 people travelling across snowy terrain some time after the American Civil War. During a blizzard, four of the crew stop by an old in where they come across four other characters, as they all travel towards Red Rock.

It’s great to see RESERVOIR DOGS alumni Roth and Madsen return to working with Tarantino, as well as Jackson and Russell. It’s also encouraging that Tarantino isn’t just relying on his staple back catalogue of actors, with Bichir and Tatum being added to the film. DJANGO UNCHAINED reinstated my faith in Tarantino after not finding anything particularly great about INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS or DEATH PROOF. Here’s hoping we’ll get another classic.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
