Natalie Portman To Join Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs Biopic?

Natalie Portman

We recently heard that Sony Pictures backed out of the Danny Boyle directed and Aaron Sorkin scripted Steve Jobs biopic JOBS, and then literally the next day, Universal Pictures picked up the pieces, with Boyle still attached.

News reaches THN today that Natalie Portman is now in negotiations to co-star in the movie that still doesn’t have an actor in the lead role of the pioneer (Christian Bale recently backed out, though we’re hearing Michael Fassbender could be the chosen one for the high profile role).

The character that Portman’s is up for is as yet unknown, but we’re assuming it will be a pretty major one due to her stature.

We have of course seen a Steve Jobs movie already with Ashton Kutcher playing the Apple founder, but Sorkin’s version is said to be totally different in style and tone, taking place real-time during three key events from Jobs’ lifetime.

We’ll bring you more casting news as we get it.
