It’s not long now before we get to see the full extent of Disney’s version of INTO THE WOODS and although some are a little concerned, I’m still thinking on the positive side, especially as Stephen Sondheim has been involved in the process of bringing this unique musical to the big screen. Today, we’ve got a new featurette that features Anna Kendrick talking about all things Cinderella.
The movie co-stars Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Chris Pine and Johnny Depp, in this modern twist on several beloved fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. You’ll head into a humorous and heartfelt world that follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), all tied together by an original story involving a Baker and his Wife (James Corden and Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the Witch (Meryl Streep), who has put a curse on them with Rob Marshall directing.
Watch the wonderful Kendrick talking about her character below, plus another little teaser of one of those classic Sondheim songs:
For a whole host of other INTO THE WOODS goodness, you can also head here. The film opens on 25th December in the USA and in the UK on 9th January, 2015.
