Watch: Trailer For David Robert Mitchell’s Psychological Thriller ‘It Follows’

Like many fellow film fans, I’m always on the look out for something a little different from any genre and on first glance, I’d dismissed IT FOLLOWS as another psychological horror but after watching this first teaser trailer, the vibe is something so very different and in a truly intriguing way.

I sense a classic thriller vibe going on, with hints of that THE THING/CARRIE style, as it follows 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe) who thinks she’s had an innocent sexual encounter but instead finds her mind plagued by creepy visions and the sense that someone is always following her. Paranoia sets in, or is it real?

American filmmaker David Robert Mitchell writes and directs in his second feature. IT FOLLOWS has picked up some very positive plaudits across the film festival circuit and really does appear to have a niche all of its own. This teaser trailer doesn’t give too much away, which is exactly how all initial insights should be. Watch:

IT FOLLOWS opens on 27th February, 2015 in the UK with a Stateside date to be confirmed.
