‘Birdman’ Leads Golden Globe Nominations

Award season is well underway with the nominations for 72nd Golden Globes having just been announced. It’s a rather interesting mix of good quality film-making with the refreshing inclusion of some unexpected films. THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL for example is up for an impressive four awards, including a Best Director nod for the wonderfully quirky Wes Anderson.

Leading the nominations though is Michael Keaton’s latest venture BIRDMAN, which received a massive seven nominations. Other strong contenders include BOYHOOD and THE IMITATION GAME with five a piece, followed closely by THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, SELMA, GONE GIRL and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL on four. The full film nominations are below:

The 72nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on the 11th January 2015.
