There’s something that feels very right about Michael Mann’s new movie BLACKHAT and that’s both in a directorial sense and the narrative of this new movie.
Although he’s moving away from his somewhat conventional crime-thriller, he’s not moving away from the same vibe but leaping headfirst into the modern world with this hacker-related epic. It stars Chris Hemsworth as Nicholas Hathaway, a blackhat hacker serving time in prison who has the talent to stop a worldwide threat from an unstoppable network trying to take down the financial markets.
What could easily be seen as a slightly dated model at first glance, there’s something different about this movie and the featurette goes out to prove that life can get a lot darker than we ever thought, it’s an interesting mix of creepy and possibility.
