Once upon a time zombies where the unwanted cousin of the monster world, George A Romero made them scary but audiences were put off by the decaying corpses. This has of course changed in recent years with films such as 28 DAYS LATER and SHAUN OF THE DEAD making the cool. Then television series The Walking Dead landed and zombies sky-rocketed to the top of the monster food chain. Audiences the world over have become obsessed with the beings and strangely we all seem to want in on the zombie apocalypse action and now fans in the UK can experience it for themselves.
After critically acclaimed runs in New Zealand and Edinburgh, The Generation of Z: Apocalypse is coming to London. The event is described as a high-velocity theatre experience which will take place in a purpose-built venue in East London. Performances start on 4th April and run until the 5th July, giving you plenty of dates to choose from. But what is it all about I hear you cry, read below for all the details.
This is an immersive theatre unlike anything you have ever experienced before. Audiences are hurled into the maelstrom of a zombie apocalypse, where the unique story unfolds around them in real time. Through the electrifying 75 minute show the fate of our audience lies in their hands, where every choice they make can mean life or death for themselves… and for the rest of mankind.
The world of The Generation of Z: Apocalypse unfolds within a purpose-built, labyrinthine venue in Dept W on Mile End Road in Whitechapel. The former Wickhams department store is an iconic building in the heart of East London, with its basement spanning over 25,000 square feet. It is here that audiences
must attempt to navigate their way through our apocalyptic wasteland.
