If there’s one thing we never stop making in the UK, it’s gritty crime-thrillers and although many of them a little bit under-par, in comparison to our US counterparts, there’s definitely diamonds among the rough and HYENA looks to be one of them if this opening snippet is anything to go by.
Set up as a gritty, stylistic drama about a corrupt cop who gets in too deep, it opened the Edinburgh Film Festival last year and is written/directed by Gerard Johnson. There’s an impressive cast as well which includes Peter Ferdinando, Stephen Graham, Neil Maskell and Richard Dormer.
Check it out below, we’d say there’s a lot of violence ahead…
