‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Cameos And Additional Cast Revealed

X-Men Apocalypse.

Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, is among the many 2016 Superhero tentpole’s to begin principal photography next month. However, it seems that there are still some last minute casting addition’s being finalised before camera’s begin to role.

Last summer’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, was a fantastic way of revitalising the decade-old franchise, by casually rebooting the series to ensure its long-term future. Although the film promised to act as a swansong to the cast of the first trilogy, it seems that we may not have seen the last of the original X-Men just yet. Last month, Patrick Stewart seemingly revealed the great news that Ian McKellen will be making an appearence in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Now, a new rumour claims that he will also be joined by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Halle Berry’s Storm.

While a cameo appearence from Jackman will surprise no one, Berry’s return is a little bit more perculiar…especially given that Alexandra Shipp will be portraying the younger version of her character. On top of that, Channing Tatum will be making his highly-anticipated debut as ‘Gambit’, with newcomer Lana Condor also set to play ‘Jubilee’. It was widely expected that Tatum would have some sort of cameo appearence in the movie, with his own spin-off set to be released a short few months later. However, this is still extremely exciting news that should act as a brilliant way of setting up next October’s GAMBIT.

Die-hard fans of the franchise will undoubtedly be pleased that Singer isn’t forgetting about the original stars of 2000’s X-MEN. Next year’s ‘Apocalypse’ will predominantly act as a final chapter for the ‘First Class’ era of the series. However, it’s nice to hear that it will also pave the way for further upcoming instalments such as the currently untitled sequel to THE WOLVERINE, as well as GAMBIT.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will be released on 19th May 2016. The film stars the large cast of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Oscar Isaac, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Lana Condor, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry.
