Although we haven’t seen that much of the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR yet, we at THN are starting to get excited. Sure we have the small matter of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON this month and August is still a while away, but who wouldn’t love to see ‘Marvel’s first family’ exorcise the demons of 2007’s outing in Josh Trank’s reboot?
Following the release of the brooding trailer and subsequent poster, we’ve now been treated to three brand-new stills, including a first look at ‘Thing’ (Jamie Bell), aka Ben Grimm in his transformed state, alongside some suitably atmospheric scenes.
With the director keen to capture the character’s personality as well as his strength, Trank has opted to go down the CG route this time around and ‘Thing’ certainly looks the better for it here, successfully shaking off the memories of the previous films’ dodgy suit.
Elsewhere we’re offered a suitably ominous glimpse at the quartets’ inter-dimensional mission and a shot of Miles Teller’s Reed Richards strapped to an examination table; if you look closely, you might notice his arms are looking a little ‘unusual’…
Whilst the details are still to be confirmed, FANTASTIC FOUR focuses on the struggles of Reed Richards, Sue Storm (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and Ben Grimm following an expedition to another dimension that quite literally changes them forever.
FANTASTIC FOUR is released on 7th August 2015.
