Johnny Depp is really at risk of oversaturating the market. There was a time when a Depp film was met with excitement, but now we’re having trouble getting rid of him. It’s going to be hard looking at him in any film after the stinker that was MORTDECAI, so let’s see if the return of Captain Jack Sparrow can warm us to Depp once again in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. If not, never you mind, as we can also take a first look Depp looking a tad different in BLACK MASS, the true story of gangster Whitey Bulger. It’s certainly the latter that has me more excited, as we’ll hopefully more of the Depp from the likes of DONNIE BRASCO. However, with KON TIKI directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning at the helm, I am still quite interested. See what you think below.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
