Ewan McGregor, maybe better known as a young Obi Wan Kenobi, is reportedly in the final stages of signing on to join the live-action remake of Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
McGregor will play Lumiere, the confident, show-stealing maitre d’/candelabra, who gets his own solo in catchy tune Be Our Guest. Ewan is no stranger to singing, having blown minds in the 2001 musical drama MOULIN ROUGE.
It’s not like BEAUTY AND THE BEAST needs much more star power. If a deal is made he’ll be featuring alongside Emma Watson (Belle), Dan Stevens (Beast/Prince), Luke Evans (Gaston), Josh Gad (Le Fou), Ian McKellen (Cogsworth), Emma Thompson (Mrs. Potts), Kevin Kline (Maurice), Stanley Tucci (Cadenza), Audra McDonald (Garderobe), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Plumette) and Adrian Schiller (Monsieur D’Arque). Now that’s a cast!
