Since it’s release on Good Friday, FAST AND FURIOUS 7 has been something of a box office juggernaut. Now after just four weeks on release the film has amassed an impressive $1.32 billion worldwide. Not bad for the seventh outing in a franchise. This phenomenal box office takings means that FAST AND FURIOUS 7 now ranks as the fifth highest grossing film of all time!
Previously the fifth slot had been occupied by FROZEN but they’ve been given no choice but to let it go and let Vin’s team take the spot. The top four films are AVATAR ($2.78b), TITANIC ($2.18b), THE AVENGERS ASSEMBLE ($1.51b) and HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 ($1.34b). Although a long way off of Cameron’s double at the very top the film could still advance to at least fourth by the end of it’s run.
Unsurprisingly it was announced last week that an eighth film is in the works and will hit cinemas 14th April 2017.
