The super-spy genre has been done a lot on the side of serious and silly quite a lot over the years but only a few have got the latter right, we’re thinking NAKED GUN and AUSTIN POWERS to name just two of the best. Paul Feig’s SPY hopes to find itself among the better stuff and from the few bits they’ve revealed, its got a good-funny vibe going on – thankfully!
Opening in the UK on June 5th, the film co-stars Jason Statham, Jude Law, Rose Byrne, and Morena Baccarin. McCarthy plays desk-bound CIA analyst Susan Cooper who volunteers to go undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent diabolical global disaster.
