Sony Pictures are officially developing two new movies based around their 21 JUMP STREET series, it has been revealed. The Wrap report that Broad City writers Lucia Aniello and Paul Downs will write the previously reported female Jump Street, while producer Neal Moritz and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will oversee it while the developing a seperate movie which will cross over into the MEN IN BLACK universe.
The plot of the second movie will see Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum jump into the land of the MEN IN BLACK, battling hidden aliens, while sending-up the crazy world in which we live where cross-over movies are becoming more common place.
It is not known as to whether Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones or Josh Brolin will have any involvement.
The ‘Jump Street’ movies have grossed over $550 million in worldwide ticket sales. The last MIB movie, MEN IN BLACK III, grossed over $600 million worldwide on its own. A crossover, while completely out there in terms of concept, doesn’t sound too crazy if you look at those numbers.
