WATCH: Tom Hardy As Ronnie & Reggie Kray in ‘Legend’ Teaser

Tom Hardy has been ratcheting up his roster of onscreen hard men to eleven recently, with a turn opposite the late James Gandolfini in THE DROP and of course the small matter of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD about to roar into cinemas. But there is a forthcoming role (or rather roles) that’s going to be causing more of a stir than most.

In LEGEND, you get not one Tom but two, as he steps into the dual shoes of characters some might argue he was born to play – notorious Sixties gangster siblings Ronnie and Reggie Kray. StudioCanal have given us an idea of what to expect with this gripping teaser trailer:

Set to the eerie strains of Roy Orbison, the glimpse showcases Hardy, in addition to Emily Browning as Francis Shea, David Thewlis as Leslie Payne and Christopher Eccleston as Leonard “Nipper” Read, the man bent on bringing the Krays’ criminal empire to a close.

Written and directed by LA CONFIDENTIAL’s Brian Helgeland and adapted from The Profession Of Violence by John Pearson, the film also stars Taron Egerton, Aneurin Barnard, Chazz Palminteri and Paul Bettany.

The new film is set for release later this year, twenty-five years after THE KRAYS, which starred Gary and Martin Kemp as the brothers.
