Dwayne Johnson is currently out and about promoting his summer blockbuster SAN ANDREAS and while doing said promotional tour, the wrestler turned actor was asked as to whether his extremely popular character of Hobbs is to return for the planned eigth movie in the hit Universal franchise THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS.
This was his response.
“Of course. It can’t go on without Hobbs.”
Boom, there it is. There is also word that the character may get his own spin-off movie, which we’d all gladly line up to see, right?
“We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input.”
FAST AND FURIOUS 7, or simply FURIOUS 7 as it is known in its home territory, has grossed nearly $1.5 billion around the world since its release just over a month ago, which is bonkers. It is currently the fourth highest grossing movie of all time behind AVATAR, TITANIC and THE AVENGERS.
FAST 8 will release in the summer of 2017.
