The arrival of a movie starring Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, aka The Brahma Bull, aka The Great One, is always an occasion to celebrate, and here’s the first of a new series of tongue-in-cheek columns here at THN which reveal ten things you didn’t know about the truly epic new action film, San Andreas.
Let’s count it down!
10. Something to do with GTA? Right?
No, this film has nothing at all to do with the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, silly, but you have to admit that this dude has an array of tats to rival those of the Great One… New movie franchise opportunity? You read it here first.
9. So, San Andreas is where…?
The movie was shot largely in Australia. Not California, where the San Andreas Fault obviously is. We’re guessing it was cheaper, or maybe they relocated because…
8. … Kylie Minogue is in it.

7. Haven’t we seen them together before?
Yes, Dwayne Johnson has appeared in a film with actress Carla Gugino before. It was called Faster… and it wasn’t very good. They also appeared in Race To Witch Mountaintogether. That wasn’t very good either.

4. Alexandra Daddario has amazing eyes.
3. There are actually 2 ‘Rocks’ in San Andreas. Here’s the other one.
2. What the…?
SPOILER! Sadly, Johnson doesn’t get the one permitted use of the word ‘fuck’ in San Andreas. That honor actually goes to Gugino. She does nail it though. Also, The Great One doesn’t take his shirt off. Not once.
1. What’s it like?
Here’s what what we though of San Andreas… A big, explosive, disaster epic that, while hitting som….
IT DOESN’T MATTER what we thought of San Andreas. Just go see it…. our review is here (if you really want our verdict).
San Andreas opens in the UK on 28th May, 2015 and the US on 29th May, 2015.
