The X-Men spin-off Gambit will start shooting in October, according to reports. The movie, which will be led by Channing Tatum in the title role, will hit the streets of New Orleans for a reported two-month shoot, ending in December.
Rupert Wyatt will helm the comic-book adventure for 20th Century Fox, and will direct from a script from Robocop scribe Joshua Zetumer. The budget is said to be in the region of $150 million.
The Louisiana Development Economic Development ‘Fast Lane‘ website says that the estimated production budget for Gambit stands at $154,975,309. Very precise.
Fox have a busy slate of comic-book movies set for release of the coming years – Fantastic Four opens August 7th, 2015, Deadpool on February 12th, 2016, X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27th, 2016, Gambit on October 7th, 2016, Wolverine 3 on March 3rd, 2017, and Fantastic Four 2 on June 9th, 2017.
Gambit was previously portrayed on the screen by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
