Tom Cruise is out and about doing the global press tour for the awesome Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, which is in cinemas from today, and during an interview on The Daily Show, the actor revealed that Mission Impossible 6 is already in pre-production.

Cruise revealed: “We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer.”

That’s heading for a 2017 if this is the case then? The fifth movie is currently playing to global audiences with really good reviews, and could re-ignite the franchise for Paramount, who’ll probably be waiting for the weekend numbers to come in before they commit to any more movies. They’ve said nothing on any future films so far.

In other news, Cruise conducted an interview with MTV where he stated that a sequel to the brilliant Edge Of Tomorrow could happen, and he has an idea for it.

“I pitched it to [“Rogue Nation” director and “Edge of Tomorrow” screenwriter Christopher] McQuarrie and [“Edge of Tomorrow” director] Doug [Liman]. We were there one night and I was like, I’ve got an idea for it.”

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation is in cinemas from today.
