New Predator movie will actually be a sequel, written and directed by Shane Black.
A new Predator sequel is on the cards and it will be written by Shane Black, the man who recently brought us Iron Man 3, and starred in John McTiernan‘s original 1987 movie.
The film will be written and directed by Black, which just the idea of is a positive in itself, and it looks like the filmmaker has an awesome plan to bring the franchise back to life after the duds that were Predator 2and those Aliens Vs Predator movies, which should have been so much better.
Producer John Davis spoke to Collider about the reboot/ sequel.
“I think it’s genius and I think it’s entertaining, and what it did is recreate a famous franchise in a different, interesting way; looking at it from a different light. He’s just an amazing writer-director. He’s got a way of looking at this that makes you excited again. I love this franchise”, Davis said.
“The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise’. I mean he’s the guy who wrote Iron Man 3”.
No idea as to when this sequel is due. As long as Jason Statham’s involved, we’re there. Wait, did I just say that out loud?
Black’s next film will be The Nice Guys with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe.
Let’s remind ourselves of the genius of the original Predator.
