We all know there’s a huge variety of different genres and great TV shows out there all competing for your attention, so to keep this going, we’d highly recommend turning your head towards Arrow Films very impressive six-part series The Saboteurs that’s available to buy now.
What’s particularly unique about The Saboteurs is how it’s merged English, Norwegian and German actors to portray the real-life characters and heroes of one the most exciting stories from the Second World War. There’s no dodgy accents here as they effortlessly mix between subtitled drama alongside the likes of Brit Anna Friel who plays Captain Julie Smith, the only fictitious lead, standing strong in the male-centred task force attempting to foil Hitler’s plans. She plays an impressively proper and to-the-point character which echoes the likes of Hayley Atwell‘s wonderful Agent Carter.
The story begins around Nobel Prize winning German scientist, Werner Heisenberg, who is aiding the Nazis’ efforts to develop an atom bomb using ‘heavy water’ from a factory deep in the Norwegian mountains. Desperate to crush Hitler’s aim, The Allies’ plan and mount a series of daring sabotage missions to blow up the plant and it really gets intense as the drama continues to build. With great performances from all, which includes Andreas Döhler, Robert Hunger-Bühler, Marc Benjamin Puchand also Espen Klouman Høiner, they convincingly drag you into the tale.
