First posters of Alice Through The Looking Glass

Alice In Wonderland made over a billion dollars for Disney, despite being heartless, awful, synthetic, and based around a needless prophecy storyline. So a sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass, was inevitable, and although Tim Burton won’t be returning, the role of director has fallen to British director James Bobin, known for Muppets Most Wanted and his work with Ali G.

Almost the entire original cast, both live-action and animated voice artists, return, so we’ll certainly be rewarded with some form of consistency. However, we can only hope that the story has a little more substance to chew on. As the original was more of a sequel to the original tale, there’s no way of telling what the story will be. But with the return of Helena Bonham Carter‘s Red Queen, perhaps revenge is on the cards.

Alice Through The Looking Glass is released on May 27th 2016. It stars Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Sheen, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Timothy Spall, Sacha Baron Cohen, Toby Jones, and Matt Lucas.
