Anne Hathaway in The Shower. Apologies for that disappointing, misleading headline. The title alludes to the fact that Anne Hathaway is set to star in a new alien invasion comedy called The Shower, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The script for the movie was on that best-of-the-best unmade screenplay list, the Blacklist, last year, and now it looks like it will roll into production very soon. The planned film is written and will be produced by Jac Schaeffer, along with Hathaway, the son of Ralph, Andrew Lauren, Adam Shulman (Hathaway’s husband) and D.J. Gugenheim.
The script is being billed by the trade as a cross between the Seth Rogen comedy This is the End, British flick Attack the Block and Bridesmaids.
The trade also posted the rough outline for the planned flick.

Here’s what Hathaway had to say of the project.
“Jac has written an awesome sci-fi comedy centered around funny, fully dimensional female characters,” she said. “I feel so lucky to be a part of the team that will bring her enormously talented and fresh voice to the big screen.”
Hathaway will next be seen in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern opposite Robert De Niro, and then the Disney-backed Alice Through The Looking Glass, where she will reprise her role as the White Princess. Hathaway also has another project called The Burning Woman in the works. That movie, which is written by Brad Ingelsby (Run All Night, The Raid remake), is currently in the planning stages, and the plot is not known at this stage.
We’ll bring you more news on The Shower as we get it. We’d expect a director to be attached to the film in the near future as the producers start to pitch to financiers.
