Vin Diesel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 return confirmed by director James Gunn.
Director James Gunn has revealed that Vin Diesel will return to the role of Groot for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. Gunn revealed the news on his Facebook page yesterday, which is sure to delight fans of this excellent film series.

So that image above is how we last saw Groot, annoying the heck out of Drax while dancing to the Jackson 5. Gunn is very active on his Facebook page, and was answering a fan’s question, which was pretty directly asking if we would see Diesel as Groot in the next film in the series.

As you can see, there seems to be a bit of confusion over Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, but Gunn quickly shot down anything to do with a third movie.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is due in cinemas on May 5th, 2017. Chris Pratt will return to the lead role of Starlord (and it has been rumoured that he might appear in other non-Guardians Marvel movies). Also returning for the sequel will be Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker and Karen Gillan.
Diesel is going to be very busy over the coming months. He has already confirmed that xXx3 will start shooting in December, while an eighth film in the Fast & Furious series has also been confirmed to shoot in the next twelve months for an April, 2017 release.
