Kong vs Godzilla movie could be on the cards, now that Kong: Skull Island has moved to Universal.
Kong vs Godzilla movie
According to Deadline, in quite a remarkable little move actually, the planned Kong: Skull Island has switched studios from Universal, to Warner Bros, sparking rumours that a Kong vs Godzilla movie could be on the cards, as the WB is the home of Gareth Edwards’ movie.
Both films are produced by Legendary, who famously left Warners in favour of Universal recently.
Deadline’s Mike Fleming reports: “In what would be a pretty epic pairing, the Godzilla sequel that is in the works will be followed by a movie that pits the giant ape versus the giant fire-breathing reptile. I’m told this is happening very quickly with moves going all the way to Japan, where Godzilla rights holder Toho is based.”
The big question is; ‘what do Universal get out of the deal?’ That is apparently still unknown, but Warner Bros. did develop the ‘Skull Island’ movie before Legendary went across to Universal.
Kong: Skull Island is very much a ‘go-movie,’ with Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Toby Kebbell, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins, John C. Reilly, Samuel L. Jackson, and Tom Wilkinson all lined-up to star. The film has a release date set for March 10th, 2017.

Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline. [/quote_box_center]
A Kong vs Godzlla movie has previously existed, with the 1962 Kaiju film directed by Ishir? Honda.
A Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla 2 already has a release date set for 18th June, 2018. Could this be a new Kong vs Godzilla movie?
