A rumour going around Hollywood in the past 24 hours is that the studio have found their new Captain Marvel, a massive feamle part in their cinematic universe. According to Heroic Hollywood, Marvel are very interested in placing Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role of their 2018 high-profile movie, which will be their 20th feature film.

Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Megan LeFauve (Inside Out) are writing the script for the film, which revolves around the character of Captain Marvel/ Carol Danvers, whose powers include flight, enhanced strength, durability and the ability to shoot concussive energy bursts from her hands. The character first appeared in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (1967).
Ferguson’s casting is still unconfirmed and merely a rumour, but the actress is current hot property following her turn in arguable the summer’s best review blockbuster. The actress has also signed up to star alongside Emily Blunt in The Girl On A Train, the adaptation of the best-selling novel.
Captain Marvel is currently set for a November 2, 2018 release.
