Tom Cruise and Doug Liman re-team for Luna City

edge-of-tomorrow-13-600x408

Having already added a sci-fi spin on Groundhog Day in last years Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman and American acting legend Tom Cruise are now turning their attention to new project Luna City.

The pair clearly enjoy each other’s company, with January bringing the fruits of their second venture cartel thriller Mena, meaning Luna City will be their third collaboration. Could they be trying to rival Burton and Depp or Scorsese and DiCaprio for most actor / director team ups? Who knows.

What we do know about Luna City is that once upon a time (2014) Jake Gyllenhaal was attached to the project but dropped out. The story will follow a group of former space explorers who set about travelling the world, collating the equipment they need to head back to the moon in pursuit of a valuable energy source.

Of course with Cruise’s very busy plate (Jack Reacher 2, Mission Impossible 6 and that much hoped for Top Gun 2) it might be a long while before we see Luna City down our local multiplex.
