Hugh Jackman is about to hang up his claws after one (or two) more appearances as Wolverine, and while out and about on the press tour for his next film Pan, which I really quite liked, the ‘nicest man in Hollywood’ named the person who he thought should replace him. That man is Tom Hardy.
Jackman spoke with MTV in the UK, and had the following to say about Hardy spiking up his hair and growing cinema’s biggest mutton-chops.
“I haven’t really given it a lot of thought. I’ve been asked that question a lot, and I’m always like, ‘I don’t wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,’ you know? I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next.’ He’s younger than me for sure. I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.”
Hardy is a busy man though. He has that Mad Max thing going on, and then there’s his project over at DC, and countless other movies in the works, including a new TV series with Peaky Blinders scribe Steven Knight called Taboo. He’s a busy boy, but we love the though of him as Wolvie? How about you?
