The works of Jane Austen tend to have a marmite effect on audiences, most adore her classical romanticism whilst others aren’t so impressed. To some the literary works of the late Austen are seen as a bit old and stuffy, her stories seen as nothing more than boring period dramas about spoiled society women. Well people in that category prepare to rethink your opinions with this first look teaser for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Based on the bestselling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith this version inserts zombies right into the middle of the famous story. This incarnation of Elizabeth Bennet is a little more Lara Croft than we’ve seen before. It’s a star-studded production with Charles Dance, Lena Headey, Lily James, Douglas Booth,and Matt Smith all cast in iconic roles. The trailer points to blood, bodices and battles and is sure to be fiendishly fun.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is released in UK cinemas on 16th February, with America getting it early on 5th February.
