He’s currently wowing critics with the forthcoming Bridge Of Spies with Tom Hanks, and now he’s said that he potentially wants to do a fifth Indiana Jones film with Harrison Ford…
Speaking on the press tour of the US with his new film, Spielberg was quoted in saying that another Indy movie could happen, but he wants to do it with Ford.
“We’ve gotta figure this out because now,” Spielberg says. “Tom is tied with Harrison Ford: Harrison and I did four movies, Tom and I have done four movies. Now I’ll probably do an Indy 5 with Harrison. It’ll be five for Harrison, four for Tom… [Then] I’ve got to make another one with Tom, so that will be five for Tom, five for Harrison. And I think I’m going to leapfrog that way for the rest of my career. With Daniel Day-Lewis in everything else!”
It sounds like he’s joking, and a lot has happened since Spielberg did Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull; Lucasfilm is now owned by Disney, and I’m sure they have an idea as to where they want to take the franchise. We have heard rumours that Chris Pratt could be the man to put on the Fedora in a future movie, but those rumours went a little cold.
‘Crystal Skull’ made a huge $786 million worldwide when it was released in 2008.
