The debut Preacher trailer has just hit the web. The new series will be an AMC original series, home of Breaking Bad and the world’s number one series, The Walking Dead.
Preacher is based on the comic book series of the same name, and stars Dominic Cooper as lead character Jesse Custer.
The comics were greated by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon and ran for a total of 75 issues through the Vertigo label. They ran from 1995 until 2000.

Preacher tells the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher in the small Texas town of Annville. Custer is accidentally possessed by the supernatural creature named Genesis in an incident which killed his entire congregation and flattened his church.
Genesis, the product of the unauthorized, unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon, is an infant with no sense of individual will. However, as it is composed of both pure goodness and pure evil, it might have enough power to rival that of God Himself. In other words, Jesse Custer, bonded to Genesis, may have become the most powerful being in the universe.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have written the pilot episode and will produce for AMC. Comic creators Steve Dillon and Garth Ennis will exwecutive produce.
Dominic Cooper is cast in the lead role of Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip O’Hare, Ian Colletti as Arseface, and W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root.
AMC will roll out the ten-episode first season of Preacher in 2016. The Preacher trailer, which we’ve debuted below, was first seen during last night’s US broadcast of episode four of the new season of The Walking Dead.
