With mixed reviews for Spectre, the talk about who will play the next Bond is at an all-time high. This online sportsbook has updated the odds, with Tom Hardy and Idris Elba listed as strong favorites. There are actually a number of names in the mix with the even bet being Damian Lewis (pictured). The actor, who became a household name following his work on the TV drama Homeland, and countless film roles including The Escapist, Romeo and Juliet and this year’s Bill, is the firm favourite to take over the role from current 007 Daniel Craig when he finally hands in his notice as the famous British super-spy.

Tom Hardy is next in line, closely followed by Idris Elba. Hardy is sure to have had his odds improved by the stunning double turn in this year’s gangster biopic Legend.

Also mentioned as +600 (6-1) are Nicholas Hoult, who led last week’s big release Kill Your Friends, and Michael Fassbender, who recently played the role of Steve Jobs. Superman himself, Henry Cavill, who played a spy in this year’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is also on the list with pretty good odds of +1000 (10-1), while ’71 actor Jack O’Connell is also listed at +2000 (20-1), the same odds as a slightly older Hugh Jackman.

The big rank outsider to play the seventh official James Bond is Pirates Of The Caribbean star Orlando Bloom who has been given odds of +5000 (50-1). The British star returns to the pirate adventure for a new movie in 2016, but his chances of putting on a tuxedo in the near future are very low.

For now, Daniel Craig is still 007 with Spectre pleasing audiences around the world. Craig has recently said that he could be done with playing Bond, but sources say that he is contracted for at least one more film. The next Bond adventure will be the 25th official movie in the lucrative franchise. Surely he’ll want to stick around for that one.
