The Kickboxer remake hasn’t even come out yet – in fact, it’s still in post-production, but plans are already afoot to bring a sequel to the screen in the very near future.

The folks over at Headmon Entertainment and Acme Rocket Fuel, who made the movie, must be pretty chuffed with what they’ve achieved on the remake, which is now being called Kickboxer: Vengeance.

The film is directed by John Stockwell, and stars Alain Moussi as the lead character of Kurt Sloan, a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand where he must learn the secrets of the kickboxer to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of Tong Po. Dave Bautista plays Tong Po and Jean-Claude Van Damme will play the martial artist who teaches Sloane how to fight Po.

Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre and Sara Malakul Lane also star in the film, which we hope will get some theatrical time and not go direct-to-dvd. Kickboxer: Vengeance will arrive in 2016/
