Girl On The Train film first look: Emily Blunt leads the movie version of Paula Hawkins’ popular hardback.
We have our Girl On The Train film first look courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, who are really aceing it after debuting the first images from Neighbors 2 and La La Land earlier on today. The Girl On The Train is based on the bestselling novel by Paula Hawkins, a book that many people would have found popping out of the top of their stockings this year.
The film version will hit cinemas in the latter part of 2016, and stars Emily Blunt, Justin Theroux, Rebecca Ferguson, Édgar Ramírez, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, and Lisa Kudrow.
We’ll give you your Girl On The Train film first look in a second, but first here’s the official synopsis from the book.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
The Girl On The Train film version will be slightly different from the book with the action taking place in New York City, rather than London. We don;t know too much more, other than that it will arrive in cinemas on October 7th, 2016.
