Michael Bay will direct Transformers 5, but it’ll be his last

Michael Bay confirms Transformers 5 will be his last film in the franchise as director.

Michael Bay Transformers 5

Filmmaker Michael Bay has revealed that he will direct the new movie in the Transformers saga, the fifth movie in the massive series over at Paramount. The director was out and about promoting his much smaller movie, 13 Hours: The Soldiers of the Benghazi, and slipped the news during an interview with Rolling Stone.

The magazine reports:

“I’m doing Transformers … 5, is it?” Bay says, temporarily losing track. He shakes his head. “I’ve taken on a lot of work.”

The small caveat that he added is that although he’ll go off and play with his Autobots and Decepticons once again, this next movie will be his last.

“I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.”

We’re not convinced. Sorry Michael. 13 Hours: The Soldiers of the Benghazi will be released in the US this week, and in the UK at the end of the month.

Bay is an orphan and a Hollywood brat – he should be doing earnest dramas or films about the entertainment industry, he has NO IDEA how to make a kids film/toy tie-in that isn’t embarrassing garbage.
